Storage and Expiry Period

 Packed cardiac troponin I test kit (colloidal gold) should be stored in a noncorrosive gas and drafty space which has relative humidity less than 80%.

Sampling

Sampling test subjects venous blood 1ml or 2-3 drops from the finger tip, serum or whole blood obtained after centrifugation

Add anticoagulant to prevent the coagulum of the sample, and finished the test immediately after sample collection.

The Sample could be stored in 2-8 Celsius degree storage for 3 days.

Test

Place the test board on a flat table.

Hold the straw vertically to insure the sample free drops into the sampling hole.

Add 3 drops of the patient's serum or plasma on the test paper first; add 1 more drop if the liquid do not appear in 30 seconds.

Read the results: Read the result in 10 minute to 15 minutes after the test, the result is invalid after 20 minutes.

The Interpretation of Test Results

Positive: Two purple lines appears on the test paper in T area and C area On the test paper respectively; the quicker the T line appears and the darker the color is, the higher amount of cTnI in the sample.

Negative: Only C line appears when the result is negative.

Invalid: The test is invalid when C line does not appear. Take a second test.

Reference Value

If the result of the test is positive, the concentration of cTnI is equal or bigger than 2ng/ml.

Explanation of the Reading Result

When myocardium is injured, cTnI releases into blood. 3-6 hours after the injury, the amount of cTnI starts to increase. The peak occurs in 14 to 20 hours, and it recovers in 5 to 7 days. cTnI has high cardiac specificity and sensitivity, it has been recognized as the most specific cardiac marker.
